一 | Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani recently announced the name of their newborn baby. Now, the new father has opened up about parenthood at We The Women Asia event in Mumbai. Sharing his journey of becoming a father, Sidharth called his daughter Saraayah Malhotra "the superstar" of the household.

Opening up further, Sidharth said, "I realize that I am no longer the hero of the house. She is the superstar. She is four months old.” He also lauded wife Kiara Advani for holding on throughout pregnancy and coping with the aftereffects of childbirth. “My wife is the superhero... The process of seeing her through pregnancy and birth is an eye-opening experience. Men talk about courage and strength, but women actually demonstrate it when they become mothers.”He also added, "Now she’s being a true superhero taking care of Saraayah. I am contributing a little by changing diapers, clicking pictures, or just keeping a happy environment."Sidharth also shared that they did not want to officially announce the name of their child. However, they did it anyway, as both him and Kiara are public figures. "We were thinking whether we should announce it or not. Because har ghar mein announce karne ki zarurat nahi hoti. But then we thought it’s fine and decided to make it official," he added.On November 28, Sidharth announced his daughter's name, with an adorable click of her tiny feet. "From our prayers to our arms, our divine blessing, our princess, Saraayah Malhotra," the post read.The couple had announced their pregnancy in March 2025 through a joint post on Instagram. They shared a picture of their hands cradling a cream-coloured knitted socks. The caption read, "The greatest gift of our lives coming soon."
On the professional front, Kiara was last seen in War 2 with Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR. Sidharth starred in Param Sundari, alongside Janhvi Kapoor. The announcement came although the number of weekly deaths is almost at its lowest level since the pandemic began.
The WHO's International Health Regulations Emergency Committee said on Wednesday after its quarterly assessment meeting last week that despite a decline in severe cases of Covid-19, and the falling number of weekly deaths, deaths from Covid-19 nevertheless remain high compared with other respiratory viruses.
It also warned of Covid-19-related complications and post-Covid-19 conditions, with the full impact of these still not completely understood. The outbreak could also evolve during the upcoming winter season in the Northern Hemisphere, the committee said.
Meanwhile, the current gaps in global surveillance of Covid-19 have hindered early identification and evaluation of the virus' evolution. With the virus expected to continue evolving, the committee said that the genetic and antigenic characteristics of future variants cannot yet be reliably predicted. Evolving variants may pose challenges to current vaccines and therapeutics, the committee warned.
"Given the above considerations, the committee concurred that continued coordination of the international response is necessary," and considered that "the situation remains dynamic and requires frequent reassessments, and that the termination of the PHEIC, when considered feasible, should be implemented as safely as possible."
The committee recommended that there should be three key priorities in the future: strengthening surveillance and achieving vaccination targets for at risk-groups; continuing to increase access to affordable therapeutics; and strengthening pandemic preparedness planning, while continuing to protect the most at-risk groups.
